Spring break in Winnipeg is full of fun family activities in all areas of our great city!

Spring Break Activities in Winnipeg for Kids & Families

 

Assiniboine Park Zoo

From March 28th until April 5th, the following events will take place at the Zoo:

Paw Print Pursuit – An interactive scavenger hunt wherein kids will try to match the paw prints on a paper handout to the animals in the Zoo.
Special Keeper Talks – Including “Welcome Humphrey” talks where zookeepers will feed the new polar bear from Toronto Zoo Manitoba inspired treats.
Creative Corner in Tundra Grill – Arts, crafts and colouring.
Easter Crafts on Easter Weekend – Special Easter crafts and colouring.

St. Vital Centre

St. Vital Centre’s Kids Club, a free discount program for all kids 10 and under, will be hosting a variety of events for Spring Break.

Manitoba Museum

There is never a shortage of things to explore and interactive displays and learning opportunities at the Manitoba Museum. Just some of the highlights available for exploration during Spring Break are: Real Pirates, along with The Old Plesiosaur and the Sea, the planetarium shows One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure and Lake Winnipeg: Shared Solutions.

Kildonan Place

March 21-April 4 – Easter Bunny Photos

The Easter Bunny is hopping in to Kildonan Place, with free treats for kids and photo packages available for purchase. Every child that visits the Bunny gets a yummy chocolate egg. Our eggs do not contain nuts, but certified peanut-free treats are also available on request for families with allergies.

Bunny Hours

Monday – Friday: 10:00am-8:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am-6:00pm

Sunday: 11:00am-6:00pm

Grant Park

Grant Park – The Art of Spring Shopping

Art Walk Contest

Grown-ups can take an art walk through the mall. Enjoy the fine art displayed throughout the mall in our stores, and note which store corresponds with which painting. Fill out a ballot and deposit it in the draw drum in our west foyer, and you’ll be entered to win a $1000 Grant Park Shopping Spree, including gift cards and certificates from many of our stores and restaurants, including DAVIDsTEA, Applebee’s, Q-Nails and more! Entries can be dropped at the West Foyer (by HUB Insurance) by 5 pm, Saturday, April 4th. Draw will take place Tuesday, April 7th, 2015.

Every Child is An Artist

Now until April 4th we invite aspiring artists (up to 12 years) to submit their own creation for our Spring Art Collection. All entries should be on 8 ½ x 11 paper and should express their feelings of the excitement and colour of spring. You can view the entries in the Galleria du Grant Park located near the West Entrance. Five entries will be selected by random draw to win an Easter Basket of goodies from Red River Co-op. Attach your fully completed form to your child’s masterpiece and drop it off at the West Foyer (by HUB Insurance) by 5 pm, Saturday, April 4th. Draw will take place Tuesday, April 7th, 2015.

SkyZone

Spring Break Camp for children from the ages of 5 – 12 runs from Monday, March 30 to Friday, April 3 (they are open on Good Friday).

There will be jump time and planned activities for all age groups. There are full days, half days and also drop in days.  

$169.00 full days for the week

$89.00 half day for the week

$49.00 full day drop-in, and

$30.00 half day drop-in.

For the general public open jump, Sky Zone will be open 1000am-900pm Monday, March 30 to Thursday, April 2. On Friday, April 3, hours of operatio are noon to 1100pm, Saturday, April 4 from 1000am to 1100pm and Sunday, April 5, noon to 800pm.

Winnipeg Art Gallery WAG

WAG Family Tours take place during Spring Break:
Tuesday March 31 at 1pm
Thursday April 2 at 1pm

Bring your family and friends to an interactive tour at the WAG. Have fun with hands-on activities and learn about art in a way that’s engaging for all ages. Included with Gallery admission.

Festival of Fools @ The Forks

The Festival of Fools is free family event held at The Forks during the school spring break.

This 7 day free family festival features jugglers, clowns, acrobats, swinging trapeze and circus workshops and tons of hilarious shows! In addition to funding support from The Forks and the Winnipeg Arts Council, the WICF solicits donations at the event to both present the best in family entertainment and to keep the festival affordable for everyone!
