CRAFT: Rubbing Tiles

January 27, 2015momstownCraftNo comments
This craft is great for any age and helps develop coordination and sensory skills.

Sponsored by Making Roots Montessori Centre

What you need:

  • crayons
  • paper
  • textured tile or a garden stone, etc.

What you do:

  • Place paper over top of tile and rub crayon (you can try different types of crayons like the triangular ones used in the picture or regular ones work, just remove paper label) across tile applying some pressure until you can see the design/words/what have you coming through onto the paper. Use one colour or multiple colours.
  • Older children could obviously add depth by using more colours within the design of the tiles.
